Cum Fashion Show Redux

It really does look like they have no idea what cum might mean, notwithstanding the pretentious foreign title and what appears to be the outline of two cow heads around it.

(As of now, there are hundreds of people lining up to attend the show)

The university kids are organising a Cum Fashion Show. I wish I knew the thinking process behind the name!

I can't really remember who (or which blog) linked to Frank Sinatra covering pop songs, but I really feel bad now because I think I'm supposed to hate it :(

I also really like Disney songs done bossa nova so now I'm unsure whether it's a brilliant album or a wretched one :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I saw this picture before I watched the movie and they really have this line!

I thought it was a parody.

Now I am sad

(but Natalie Portman is still hot).

Hello occassional public LJ post. Here is a photo taken using my phone of the flyer the Inti University Adventure Club has pasted everywhere last month to promote their Mystery Journey to Sungai Lembing. Observe the ingenious usage of a Jewish Star/Israel flag to represent the promised fun-filled experience you shall have in said Mystery Journey, located in a Muslim country which has many bad things to say about Israel and Jews.

From what I heard they thought they put up a pentagram.

Guys if you need to know something that thing is Stubbs the Zombie is really, really excellent fun. There's some comment by the creators that Halo was "30 seconds of fun, repeat" and somehow, they managed to make that formula work in a game where you have to eat people's brains and command your army of undead beasts to destroy Baby Boomer America. The soundtrack also works fantastically well, since I'm now humming old 50's tunes whenever I'm not listening to anything.

The Mac version of Stubbs seems to have some kind of hanging problem, which is a little frustrating since I can't finish the game. Oh well, two more weeks and I can use my PC and play games! And study.

Arse.

Cecil Rajendra

According to The Sun, Malaysia has its own Nobel literature nominee, a certain Cecil Rajendra who writes poems touching on third world issues, homosexuality, and fallen women (from the little I found on him). The fact that local media focuses little on him is curious - which is possible due to the controversial content of his writings, but snubbing a Nobel nominee sounds weird. My dad, who knows him from the Malaysian Bar council, says he's a good poet but not a great poet, and he (quite aggressively) doubts that he's genuinely nominated.

I can't seem to locate much information on him online about him being a Nobel literature prize nominee (is the list unpublicized?), although a few blogs mentioned his presence.

At the urging of [info]emsworth to read the book or watch the film before attempting to play the game, it suddenly occurred to me that, at the circumstances of Harry Potter novels getting darker and corrupted, the title of the final book should, appropriately, be Harry Potter and Then There Were None.

Hey guys, friends I have on the Internet are doing an art fundraiser called ART FOR KATRINA (AFK). I know a number of you who aren't on COTI are into art & photography, so this is a good place where you can help. If you have cash and enjoy looking at quality artwork this is a good place for you too.

You can find it right here

Most of the folks I know in here have some really excellent art style and are extremely diverse in a variety of fields, so I cannot recommend enough that you should look at their stuff.

I meant to write this almost a week ago, but my mood got spoiled by some mishap involving online roleplaying, then I got to "roleplaying" in some computer game requiring mindless violence and basically was distracted.

So anyway there was a convocation. And a photo of Isabel because NOBODY CLICKS ANY PHOTO THAT ISN'T A BABY RIGHT

Here is a quick summation of what was left to do prior to being able to graduate:
4th Aug - Travel with coursemate to Malacca by car, stay overnight
5th Aug - Attend rehearsal/Collect "graduation items", return to Kuala Lumpur
6th Aug - Wonder what to do (which turns out to be Nerd Prom Malaya)
7th Aug - Convocation

Two-word summation: SO TIRED

You probably won't find this particular Incredibles merchandise anywhere outside Asia (or maybe Malaysia, in that case) - Sis and I went to this store selling cloth and sewing material, where we obtained 2 metres of this thing for around RM2.80/metre (something less than an American). I'm not sure why Violet's hair is, um, more violet than in the film.

(Yes, more photos. Hop over to my Flickr account for photos of Isabel with ingenious Malaysian piracy at work)
